According to him, only 11 dealers have licences to sell taxi meters in Kathmandu.Meter earthing came to light when a taxi was seized from the Gongabu area for tampering with the meter. Under the monitoring of the MTPD, a team, incorporating police and technicians from the Bureau of Standards and Metrology, was formed two weeks ago to monitor taxi irregularities. The team, in civvies, has already taken action against more than 300 taxis in the Capital.
